Infuriating
Disclaimer: This has absolutely nothing to do with babies or anything profound, but it is important and about our health, so I wanted to share it as widely as possible. Please take a minute to read it and share the link to the article with others if you feel so inclined.
"Traces of mercury turned up in name-brand products from makers including Quaker, Hunt's, Manwich, Hershey's, Smucker's, Kraft, Nutri-Grain, and Yoplait."
I think this is a great reminder to America to stop being lazy and stop buying short cut products and feeding their kids crap! Your kid wants a granola bar - guess what, it takes no time to make one with unprocessed wholesome ingredients. You want sloppy Joe? Get some good lean beef/turkey and tomatoes at the farm and make it yourself! You can't live without strawberry preserves - take your kid to a farm in June and pick a bucket of fruit and then cook it down with plain sugar...simple!
The answer is not legislation to prevent harmful metals and chemicals being used in food production. The answer is not buying those products. By choosing to buy simple foods and cooking our own meals will save Americans lots of personal $$, improve our health (all that bending down to pick strawberries is great for you!) and will save plenty of legislative dollars.
But then, what will the legislators do without having to deal with food production related bills? They will have to focus on running the country, protecting our borders and the rights of Americans to make their own GOOD choices, just to name a few.
The mighty wondrous story of Tikva begins with my post from January 25, 2008, Tikva. Tikva Ahava means Hope Love in Hebrew. Her incredible journey through our world concludes in my post from August 8, 2008, A Breath of Fresh Air... My own journey continues as I am awakened daily to all that Tikva teaches me.

Love, Thoughts and Prayers (Updated 12/04/09)
If you scroll down to the very bottom of this page, you'll find a list of people in need of loving thoughts and prayers of hope. I will note the date of the latest update here. Please visit this section regularly and share your love and hope.
The most recently updated or added requests will go at the top, but all of them are important, so please scroll down to see them all.
In the words of my sweet husband, "We are all made of the same stuff as sunshine," and we are all one, in this together. Thank you for extending your hearts in infinite ways.
You'll notice that some people I had listed before are no longer here. This is because I have added the links to their blogs under "Words About Loving, Losing and Healing" so you can check in with them directly. Or it's because they no longer need our prayers.

Just my opinion.
